Career Explorer ยท Mindspan ยท last updated 1 July 2026
The short version: this tool reads nothing about you. There is no tracking, no profiling, and no access to any of your accounts. You tell us where you're at; your own answer is the only thing that personalises what you see. That's the whole model โ and it's deliberate.
What we use to tailor your view
- Your declared choice โ the "which best describes you?" answer you pick. This is the main (often only) signal.
- A campaign link you arrived on โ if you came from one of our links/ads it may carry a tag like
?path=clinical-psych that opens the matching version. We set those; they describe the link, not you.
- Coarse device defaults โ your browser's language/timezone, used only to pre-fill sensible defaults, and always overridable. We do not geolocate or store this.
- Your own choices on this site โ e.g. light/dark โ stored only in your browser (localStorage), never sent anywhere.
What we never do
- Read your Google/email account, profile, or contacts.
- Read your search history or your browsing on other sites.
- Read cookies, cache, or data from other websites โ your browser seals those off, and we wouldn't want them anyway.
- Build a profile of you, fingerprint your device, or sell/share data.
- Run advertising trackers or third-party marketing pixels.
Profiling people who are making decisions about their future is a line we won't cross โ and a registered psychologist's standards demand no less.
Cookies & analytics
Essential, first-party storage only (your light/dark choice). We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics for aggregate counts (page views) that cannot identify you. You can decline non-essential analytics in the banner โ the tool works fully either way.
Your control & this notice
- You can use everything without an account.
- If we later add optional Google sign-in, it will be explicit opt-in and clearly labelled โ never silent.
- Questions or requests: info@mindspan.com.au.
